Northvane opened a new route from Manchester to Reykjavík. Instead of selling the destination, we sold the seat: 14A, and the stories of people who have sat in one.

The challenge

Route launches all look the same.

Airlines launch routes with the destination's best postcard and a price. Northvane's new route flew somewhere every competitor already sold, at a fare 15% higher. People needed a reason to choose the airline, not the place.

Seat 14A on the first flight. Every passenger we filmed got the window.

The idea

Everyone remembers a window seat.

We collected first-flight stories from 300 passengers and crew, filmed twelve of them on board, and gave the launch week to their stories. The window became the frame for every asset, from the film to the boarding pass.

What we made

Twelve short films and a campaign system built around one shape: the aircraft window.

  • Story call-out and casting of 300 passengers
  • Twelve short films shot on board
  • Window-frame OOH at three airports
  • Boarding pass and onboard print
  • Creator flights with travel writers

Nobody remembers a fare. Everybody remembers a window seat. That line is still on our wall.”
